SSLA 2011Conference

The SSLA 2011 Conference will be held April 15th in Saskatoon, SK. at the Circle Drive Alliance Church (3035 Preston Avenue).

Hosted by Saskatoon Public Schools, the SSLA 2011 Conference is entitled School Libraries: Transformational Learning and the iGeneration. Dean Shareksi and Darren Kuropatwa, the keynote speakers, will discuss how technology can be used to effectively to foster conversation, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. As there willl be ample time to learn and to play, participants will need to bring a laptop.

Darren Kurpotwa is a curriculum consultant at Manitoba Education. His leadership and vision in the field of educational technology are known world-wide through his professional blog - A Difference.

Dean Shareski is the digital learning consultant for Prairie South School Division. He is an internationally renowned speaker about effective ways to teach and learn with technology. Visit his blog.

 

Agenda

The conference features a keynote address from Dean Shareksi and Darren Kuropatwa. Following the address, the participants will attend workshop sessions. The two sessions are rotational and hands-on. A laptop with Internet capability is needed.

FEE
SSLA Member - $100
Non SSLA Member - $130 (includes membership)

Registration fee includes the access to the keynote address, hands-on workshop sessions, and nutrition (breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks). The fee includes GST.

No refunds will be issued.
